Twelvemonth restaurant, lounge, and bakehouse

A LEED Platinum renovation of two historic buildings in downtown Burlingame for a plant-based dining experience.

Façade improvements include two new pedestrian scaled entrances, new street trees, new operable windows with planter boxes, and lanai doors that open to a vibrant outdoor dining space. Once a dead-end parking, the new courtyard is now a town hot spot to enjoy a beverage with neighbors.

On-site renewable energy, an updated building envelope and carefully sourced materials ensure that the environmental mission of the restaurant is authentically reflected. Rainwater catchment system recycles gray water to restaurant irrigation and restrooms. A chef’s greenhouse is the meeting place for LEED walking tours and composting demonstrations.

Three projects in one, the bar and the bake house enliven previously blank urban walls on parallel streets.  A robust collaboration with designers, artists, craftspeople and technical experts, the project is a remarkable manifestation of the owners deep commitment to sharing his passion for mother nature, community, and good food.
