Art Moves Project
Placemaking
An interactive public art installation commissioned by the Art Moves Project (AMP), in collaboration with choreographer Yukie Fujimoto, musician Marquisse Moore and the No Strings Attached Dance Company.
Encased: Presented explored our sense of place and displacement both as individuals and as a community through a combination of movement, sound, and material objects installed and performed at the Lafayette Plaza Park in October 2018. The free performances activated the often-overlooked public park; the installation remained up for three days drawing attention, shifting perception and soliciting public response via a writing wall.
Art Moves Project is a public art initiative that commissions California artists from different disciplines and backgrounds to create new work under exploratory themes. The collaboration results in temporary installations that merge varying artistic forms and brings the artist’s work out of the traditional indoor venues to outdoor public spaces.
AMP was founded by Christy Mack, Lissa Resnick and Yukie Fujimoto.
